Program Officer – Community Development

About the Role:

Global Voiceless is seeking a dedicated Program Officer – Community Development to lead and support our community-focused initiatives. The role involves planning, implementing, and monitoring projects that empower marginalized and vulnerable communities, ensuring that development programs are effective, inclusive, and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, and implement community development programs aligned with the organization’s mission and objectives.

  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns for local communities.

  • Build strong relationships with community members, local authorities, and partner organizations.

  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, ensuring timely reporting and documentation.

  • Support fundraising efforts and proposal development for community-based projects.

  • Identify community needs, challenges, and opportunities to enhance program effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, or related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in community development or NGO programs.

  • Strong understanding of participatory development approaches and community mobilization.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of project management and monitoring & evaluation techniques.

  • Proficiency in report writing and documentation.

  • Fluency in Nepali and English; local languages are a plus.

  • Passion for social justice, equity, and community empowerment.
