Construction of Community Water Supply System

Access to clean and safe drinking water is a basic human right, yet many communities in Nepal continue to struggle with water scarcity and unsafe sources. To address this challenge, Global Voiceless successfully implemented the Construction of Community Water Supply System project, which provided sustainable water access to hundreds of families in rural areas.

This project involved the construction of gravity-fed water supply systems, community taps, and storage tanks, ensuring that clean water was available within walking distance for households. Beyond infrastructure, the project also focused on community ownership and capacity-building by training local water-user committees in system management and maintenance.

By reducing the burden of water collection—often carried out by women and children—the project significantly improved health, sanitation, education, and livelihood outcomes within the community. Families gained more time for income-generating activities and children were able to attend school regularly.
